Hi, I'm Marc. I'm the author of Everest Base Camp & Gokyo Lakes, creator of Walking in Circles, Hiking Blog of the Year 2025, and someone who believes the best adventures are the ones you never thought you'd do.
One conversation in a pub led me to Everest Base Camp.
Since then I've completed mountain treks in Nepal, organised guided walking events, written a book and won Hiking Blog of the Year.
It all started with saying yes to one walk.

Marc from Walking in Circles designed a great self-guided monopoly trail for a hen do I was organising. We had various specific requirements which Marc was happy to accommodate, and he was so friendly and responsive over email. The route he designed was great and all of our party really enjoyed seeing the various landmarks around London. Marc also produced a lovely personalised guide and certificate which the hen loved, as well as collection of all the photos after the walk, which is a beautiful keepsake.
